Posted by Sparty0526 on 8/12/2008 10:32:00 AM

Ok so I already downloaded it...and it looks like it will be very stimulating for the baby...once HE (no I dont really know but its a boy) can sit up.

BabySMASH! http://www.babysmash.com/ is a "game" for babies check the link but basicly they push buttons on the keyboard and shaps and sounds come up. I plan to plug an old keyboard in so I dont have to worry about my good one but looks like it could be fun!

Sweet! Get your kid hooked to video games as early as possible! Then you won't have to worry about such silly things as buying expensive, healthy food or exercise equipment!

In all seriousness, though, what IS the purpose of that "game"? Get your kid some wood blocks, man.

If you watch the vids you will see that it can be used as a learning tool to learn numbers and letters and colors as well as get your baby used to the computer and comfortable with it...

Ah well. Despite being the geek that I am, I'm not letting my kid on a computer until about age 5. Before that, it's good, old-fashioned toys, imagination and outdoor shenanigans. The world is a bit too electronic, even for me. I want my kid to learn to enjoy the rest of life before getting addicted to electronics.

Of course, to each his own, though it never hurts to hear different points of view, which is one of the reasons I read friends' blogs and post comments (and encourage comments on my own) in the first place :-)

uh, we need to talk...

Lol I thought it was cute. I mean it's only going to hold a toddlers attention for maybe 10 min. tops. I think it's a neat way to let your kid immitate mommy and daddy since that's how all children learn anyways is through immitation. It's all about balance, I would hope you wont be sitting on the computer all night instead of playing with the kid anyways. :)

The early introduction to the computer and the fine motor skills this kind of "game" teaches is intergral in the society we live in. Children that learn how to use the computer at a younger age, will be able to do better in school and not need extra guidance when they start school.

I say, go for it, as long as you keep it educational and in reasonable timeframes.

You know my kid is going to be fixing PCs by the time he/she is 3...
